dream
I had this dream that lasted for most of the night where I was in India and came across a tea stand where a monkey would serve you. It was like chai tea x1000, super good. There was an assortment of fancy brass cookware and I watched as the monkey brewed some syrup-like tea, added fresh cream and a mix of spice and dehydrated fruit. My parents were there and found this all to be disturbing and uncomfortable, so they left. I hung around for a while and eventually met the family that runs the stand, and ended up back at their dwelling, which was part of a stone alleyway full of small passages and hallways, where a close-by river was made to flow through this shaded area by the architecture. There was a husband and wife, grandfather, 3 children I met, and more kids randomly coming and going. For the rest of the dream I walked around with one of the younger kids as he explained the world from his youthful perspective, stopping to point out all the small things like where frogs would hide and things like that. What was unusual was how non-dreamlike the dream was; how concrete the environments and situations were and clear and long lasting it all was to my experience. Just thought I’d wright it down.
